Bill Manzke lives in Columbus Ohio, but is originally from
Baltimore. He writes that he has done a lot of modeling and railfanning in
the 1980's, but has put HO modeling aside to raise his children and pursue
other activities including Cub Scouts. He hopes to return to modeling
soon. His fleet of WM equipment is safely stored waiting for a return to
the rails. In the meantime, Bills modeling, like the WM, lives in our
memories.
This reworked and kitbashed HO Scale Atlas SD-35 #7434 features
a flange oiler box and wire handrails, and was once published in Railroad Model
Craftsman magazine decades ago. The shot was taken outdoors using a
diorama with a real quarry in the background. The Ford Torino is an Aurora
slot car of the same era.

Thanks to Bill for sharing this striking scene with us. If you
have a model railroad you would like to see featured on the WMRHS web site,
please E-mail the Webmaster.
